DON’T JOKE WITH THE MOKE
This little car that is mainly found on the beaches is the result of a military demand. In the 1960’s, the British needed a light vehicle that could be air-dropped comparable to the famous American Jeep from the Second World War. But the small tires and low ground clearance made it impossible for the army to use it.
About 50 000 Moke were made in the world between 1964 and 1980. A rarity that gives a vintage look to this wild and miniature reinterpretation of the Jeep.
Because of the diversity of the production methods and locations, it is very rare to find two perfectly identical models. However, they all share a common characteristic of being convertible, making it the ideal car for summer driving in Saint-Tropez: hop on yours and drive through the small roads of Saint-Tropez, Grimaud and Ramatuelle.
A STAR AMONG THE STARS
After winning the Monte Carlo rally, the Mini Moke becomes really successful among private customers and competition enthusiasts. While it was rejected by the army, the Moke enjoyed great popularity among the newly rich in cities such as Cannes, Saint-Tropez or Monaco.
It is also indivisible from actress Brigitte Bardo who used it as her favorite way of getting to the port of Saint-Tropez.
It then appeared in many French movies and TV shows, such as many of the Louis de Funès movies, but also in some international movies as 007 Live and Let Die.
