This week, we are taking you on a path to discover the artists whose works decorate the walls of our rooms and common areas... Collages, drawings, ceramics but also photographs and vintage engravings of Mont Ventoux... keep your eyes open!

Contemporary artists

Discover the Japanese aesthetic concept of "mono no aware" or sensitivity for ephemeral in Naomi Katsu's works. She paints watercolors with Japanese ink, creating transparency effects and superimposition of colors. Kim Bartelt's minimalist work style is found in the "A fleur de peau" series. Light and poetic works of art, reflecting the fragility of the present moment, with multiple readings thanks to the work of tissue paper which reveals rather than hides. The technique of painting/collage can also be seen in Vincent Lemaitre's work. He experiments with different forms of altered paper by tearing, scraping, washing paper to create colorful and primitive works. We find color in the paintings of Frédéric Heurlier Cimolai, an artist whose artwork can also be seen at our sister hotel in Saint-Tropez, Lou Pinet. At Crillon le Brave, his paintings consist of colorful flat tints in suggested and timeless forms. Another artist present at Hotel Lou Pinet is Lily Delaroque. "Carbone", an installation mixing metal, hemp, rope, and manga clay found its place at the entrance of the bar, bringing calm and serenity.

Inspired by nature, Amélie Chassary offers poetic photographs whose aim is to magnify the simple things in life. There is in this artist a deliberate will to bedazzle the viewer with her pure clichés on colored backgrounds leading one to wonder: is it a drawing, a painting, or a photograph? Nature is also present in Liana Jegers' pencil drawings, which express a delicate feminity. Hand-drawn illustrations with bright colors, and details that reveal themselves through multiple observations.

Delphine de Luppé, whose works are exhibited at La Table du Chef, uses images recovered from old books such as travel guides, technical treaties... which she then covers with colors. In all her work we find the presence of straight lines forming geometric shapes, and perspective and matter effects. Mathilde Labrouche is also an artist inspired by the past to create contemporary pieces. Her mirrors, reflections of the soul, are lined with old wallpapers or tapestry.

Jaume Roig's ceramics can be found in the common areas of the hotel, at the corner of a hallway, or in the bar. They are spontaneous sculptures with organic shapes made in different types of clay and colored with natural pigments.

Artworks from the private collection of the Pariente family

During your stay, you will also have the chance to admire artworks from the private collection of the Pariente family. Among them, a "Nana", colorful and curvy woman, famous creation of Niki de Saint Phalle. In the Bar, two majestic works have found their place: a black monochrome by Gregor Hildebrandt, made of magnetic tapes-his signature- and a painting on tent canvas by Claude Viallat. The works of the latter are easily recognizable because they always show a repeated abstract shape, similar to an ossicle, in different colors. The canvas you will see in Crillon le Brave has yellow and brown tones.

In our La Madeleine restaurant, you will be able to contemplate two paintings by Donald Judd during your gastronomic dinner, while in our restaurant La Table du Ventoux, it is a portrait of Pablo Picasso that you will find.
