The highest peak of Vaucluse becomes, after the Ecological Defense Council, the 9th to obtain this label in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region as well as the 55th French Regional Nature Reserve. Between now and 2022, the French government plans to increase the share of protected marine and terrestrial areas to 30% of the territory with a dedicated budget of 1.5 billion euros. This new label will help protect the environment, heritage, and culture while supporting economic activities and the well-being of local communities. To achieve the goals set by President Macron to protect biodiversity, the Government subsequently announced the creation of 3 new protected areas covering more than 219,00 hectares, 85,000 of them being represented by Mont Ventoux.

Mont Ventoux and Crillon-le-Brave

Here, the Provençal decor is eclipsed in favor of an undeniably exceptional panorama and luxury is felt in the sweetness of life, in this Provence which smells of honeysuckle and jasmine, than in an ostentatious abundance.

The essentials

Famous and feared at the same time, the ascent of Mont Ventoux attracts all of the cyclist enthusiasts. But the Giant of Provence can also be conquered by foot, admiring the splendid view surrounding.

The Mont Ventoux also offers many atypical hikes during which you can observe chamois, mouflons, golden eagles... During the fall, do not miss the roar of the stags, early in the morning or in the evening. A guaranteed sensory experience!

You can also admire the sunrise or sunset over the vineyards and the Dentelles de Montmirail with friends or family, alone or accompanied by a guide.

The "Provencal Giant" and its surroundings also offer views from the sky, from a paraglider or a microlight.

Go to the Provençal markets to stock up on fresh produce!

Local producers will treat you to their local specialties: black figs from Caromb, strawberries from Carpentras, apricots from Le Barroux or black truffles from Ventoux... Wine lovers can also take a tour of the many wineries that wind their way around Mont Ventoux.

Our chef Anissa Boulesteix proposes a picnic basket for a bucolic lunch, on the grass or in the vineyards after a walk, or to give yourself some strength before climbing up Mont Ventoux!
